Spotlight Event

On June 16th, 2021 we celebrated the opening of the new Midway Peace Park! Midway Peace Park is another key component of the City of Saint Paul’s vision to create vibrant outdoor gathering spaces that strengthen community connections along the Green Line.
We organized activities for all ages will be offered, including yoga, basketball, sidewalk chalk, music and entertainment, tours of the new amenities, vendor tables, and more! Come hungry–food trucks will also be on site.
Mayor Carter joined park collaborators in a program and ribbon cutting at 4pm to mark the grand opening of the new park.
Enjoy these photos of the event.

Friends of Midway Peace Park:
Our Mission/Our Commitment.

Friends of Midway Peace Park is a grassroots community effort to activate local residents with a park that they played an integral role in championing from 2010-present. Now that the park is done, our work continues via civic engagement, park programming, website and outreach materials translated into Hmong, Oromo, Somali, Spanish, Vietnamese and English.  Our goal is to empower our community via the park.  Join us!

Our members include: Lexington-Hamline Community Coalition, Skyline Tower, Health Partners, Gordon Parks High School, Concordia University, Hamline Midway Coalition and more.

Our work is currently funded through a residency with the University of Minnesota’s Liberal Arts Engagement Hub.
